Wei Ying/Wuxian

Wei Wuxian is a tall, thin, handsome man of Chinese descent, with bright laughing eyes and a mouth that’s often curved up into an easy smile. He wears his hair long, usually up in a half-ponytail, held in place with a long red ribbon. He’s usually seen wearing a combination of blacks and reds, and, occasionally, grey or dark blues, often layered over each other, and he is almost always seen with his flute, a black instrument with red tassels, tucked into his belt.Wei Wuxian’s parents passed away when he was 5 years old and, for the next four years, he wandered the streets and survived mostly by fighting for thrown-away or leftover food from market stalls. He managed, though the experience left him with a crippling fear of dogs. When he was 9, one of his mother’s old friends, Jiang Fengmian found him and brought him back to his home in Lotus Pier, where he grew up as the senior disciple of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect, and adopted son of Jiang Fengmian, the Sect Leader. He had a difficult relationship with his adopted family, especially Yu Ziyuan, Jiang Fengmian’s wife, and Jiang Cheng, his adopted brother and future Sect Leader – but he loved them with all his heart, and was a dedicated and loyal disciple to Yunmeng Jiang. When they were fifteen, Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and their oldest sister, Jiang Yanli were sent to the Cloud Recesses to study. During his time there, Wei Wuxian got into a lot of trouble because of his nature, as well as his curiosity and unconventional way of thinking. He also met Lan Wangji and became entangled with Gusu Lan Sect's search and defense of the Yin Iron, which led to the eventual destruction of Yunmeng Jiang Sect, the death of his adopted parents, and his brother losing his Golden Core. Since he was unable to find a way to fix Jiang Cheng's Golden Core, Wei Wuxian then gave up his own core for his brother. Without his Golden Core, he was unable to cultivate in the way he had done all his life. He was captured and thrown into the Burial Mounds, a place so full of resentful energy that no one could purify it or survive there, and left to die. Instead, after three months, he came out of the Burial Mounds, having invented demonic cultivation, which gave him access to that resentful energy, channeling it into the control of spirits/puppets/fierce corpses. As Wei Wuxian returned to the battlefield in what became known as the Sunshot Campaign, the full power of his cultivation was revealed, and his Stygian Tiger Seal - refined from a sword made of Yin Iron, became the cause of much controversy and jealousy. He became further and further removed from his family and his friends, lost in the resentful energy of his cultivation, as well as ostracized further and further for his methods and by others’ jealousy. It eventually came to a head when he found out that the Lanling Jin Sect, who seemed to come out of the Sunshot campaign at the top of the cultivation world, were torturing innocent people who happened to have been related to the Wens, a pair of siblings that had saved his life. He demanded their freedom, fought with them when they were denied it, and escaped with them to the Burial Mounds, where they set up something that was almost a home.During this time, cut off from the rest of the cultivation world, rumors of the Yiling Laozu started going around - all sorts, blaming him for all kinds of things, pointing at his unorthodox method of cultivation as evil - he became the enemy of the people, but also a figure of much intrigue for others - and so, the legend of the Yiling Laozu grew. The rest of the cultivation world, however, didn't leave him alone, and their hounding resulted in the death of his sister's husband, the Wen remnants Wei Wuxian had tried to save, and finally, in his confrontation with the other cultivators, his sister.Feeling lost and hopeless and alone, he finally destroyed the Stygian Tiger Seal, throwing it into the crowd of gathered cultivators and watching them fight each other for the pieces. Seeing no real future, he stepped off a cliff edge and, despite Lan Wangji's attempt to save him, to his apparent death. Thirteen years later, Wei Wuxian was resurrected through the use of a Sacrifice Ritual by Mo Xuanyu, for which he was cursed to extra revenge on those who had harmed Mo Xuanyu in the past, pushing him to the point of sacrificing himself to bring the feared “Yiling Laozu” back from the dead.Wei Wuxian found himself once again in the middle of mysterious plots and power play, revealing the hidden figures behind events of the past - and of his own past life. He’s very skilled in inventing and creating talismans, curses, protection, and other spiritual-based tools. He also uses great deductive reasoning and observation skills. He’s still got some sword-fighting skills, as well as his archery skills, but they’re more a talent now than a power his “golden core” is too underdeveloped to put real power into his fighting.Personality:Clever and Mischievous: Wuxian is known for his intelligence and mischievous personality. He often employs unconventional methods and has a playful demeanor that endears him to some and causes consternation in others. Nevertheless, Wei Wuxian often expresses regret and admits his faults.Compassionate and Loyal: Despite his carefree exterior, Wei Wuxian is deeply compassionate and loyal to his friends. He is willing to go to great lengths to protect those he cares about, with a strong sense of justice, even if it means facing personal hardships.Talented Cultivator: Wei Wuxian is a highly skilled cultivator, proficient in demonic cultivation and traditional cultivation techniques. His expertise allows him to wield an array of powerful abilities, making him both respected and feared within the cultivation world.Inventive and Unconventional: Wei Wuxian is known for his innovative thinking and willingness to break with tradition. His cultivation methods and problem-solving approach often defy conventional norms, challenging the established order of the cultivation world.Weapons:Yin Iron: Wei Wuxian possesses the Yin Iron, a special spiritual weapon that can be used in combat. The Yin Iron becomes a notable aspect of his character and is often associated with his unorthodox approach to cultivation.Chenqing is a dizi, elegantly crafted with intricate designs. Its appearance is deceptively simple, but it carries immense spiritual significance and serves as Wei Wuxian's primary spiritual tool. The flute is black and adorned with red tassels, representing both its demonic cultivation origins and Wei Wuxian's rebellious nature. Chenqing possesses powerful spiritual resonance, enabling Wei Wuxian to control and manipulate resentful energy, a unique form of dark energy associated with the dead. Through the haunting melodies played on Chenqing, Wei Wuxian can summon and command spirits, control corpses, and perform various demonic cultivation techniques. The flute, Chenqing, is originally a part of the Yin Iron set created by Suibian, a renowned craftsman.Empathy: he is able to channel his energy into a being/spirit/fierce corpse and see its past memories.Paper metamorphosis: he can affix part of his soul to a small paperman and animate it, enabling it to have a small life of its own – the paperman’s ability is dependent on how much of his soul he puts into it, and ranges from just being animated to be able to fully support his consciousness.Abilities:Swordsmanship:
Wei Wuxian's blade, Suibian, was more than a mere weapon; it was an extension of his will. With every strike, he wove intricate patterns of steel and wind, dancing through the chaos of battle with grace and finesse. After losing his spiritual connection, suibian proves itself to be a loyal sword even though Wuxian is unable to release it from its sheet.. With not the profound golded core, the sword believed he was dead.. This, until he recovered himself. He can still use it but would be unable to stand long against his opponent.A flute-turned-sword, this weapon named Chenqing, is not merely a tool imbued with his own spiritual energy. His fighting style is fluid and unpredictable, incorporating both traditional techniques and his own innovative methods. His main tool was not only to express himself but to fight with dark forces bent to his will, forged from Yin metal. In battle, Wei Wuxian's movements with Chenqing are a dance of death, fluid and unpredictable, weaving between offensive strikes and defensive maneuvers.Demon slaying Techniques: Embracing the forbidden arts of demonic cultivation, Wei Wuxian tapped into a wellspring of dark power. Whispers of ancient incantations flowed from his lips, summoning creatures of nightmare and shadow to do his bidding. He can imbue his weapons and artifacts with the properties of Yin metal, granting them enhanced durability and the ability to disrupt spiritual energies. Wei Wuxian is a proficient alchemist, capable of creating powerful potions and talismans.Inventions:Yin Tiger Tally: Divided in two, this weapon is capable of summoning an army of fierce corpses to do the wielder's bidding. It can be a deadly weapon in the hands of Wuxian, embracing the form of Chenqing as a sword, or a forceful violent dark fog.Musical Proficiency: The haunting melody of his flute echoed through the silence of the night, weaving a tapestry of magic and mystery. With each note, he commanded the very essence of the spiritual realm, bending it to his will with a musician's delicate touch. He can use his musical skills to control and manipulate spiritual energy, often incorporating melodies into his spells and rituals.Spirit-Attraction Flag: A flag capable of attracting any creature holding resentful energy within a certain radius. Wei Wuxian's prowess is enough to kill entire supervisory offices.Spirit-attraction flags are black talismans with incantations drawn on them. The more experience the user has drawn the incantations and motifs, the greater the flag's effective range and the more powerful spiritual beings it can attract. Multiple spirit-attraction flags may be set in a formation to draw creatures to a specific area instead of a single person or building.Wen Ning: Wei Wuxian's experiments lead him to bring back Wen Ning as the first conscious Fierce Corpse in known history. Nevertheless, Wei Wuxian is clear that he does not view Wen Ning as a thing. Wen Ning remains sensitive to the bloodshed he carries out as a fierce corpse. Once Wei Wuxian loses control, he expresses guilt and sorrow for those he killed.Final Eyes Summoning: A technique that allows the summoning spirits to possess objects with painted eyes, such as Paper Effigies. The spirits summoned are strong enough to tear the arm of a Fierce Corpse.Empathy: This technique allows the user to view the memories of ghosts or Fierce Corpses.Paper Metamorphosis: This technique allows the user to affix their soul to a piece of paper. The time with which a person can affix their soul to the paperman is strictly limited. In addition, the paperman cannot tolerate a single scratch, or the soul of the user receives the same degree of harm. This can result in anything from a year of unconsciousness to a lifetime of lunacyAs a small piece of paper, the nearly-weightless paperman can flutter through the air like a butterfly, or flatten to pass through closed doors.Compass of Ill Winds: A compass capable of detecting evil creatures. Wei Wuxian likely invented the device while at the Burial Mounds, as he died before refining it. Because of his ill-timed death, the compass cannot pinpoint an exact location.Golden Thread Formation: Wei Wuxian uses this ability to form a net with threads of spiritual energy. He could use this formation to capture enemies or to keep soulless people from attacking others.Talismans: Wei Wuxian utilizes a wide variety of spells and talismans. He demonstrates a spell to create small butterflies made of light, the ability to freeze people with and without a talisman, and uses another talisman to scour areas for spiritual abnormalities. Other talismans and spells land spiritual attacks on powerful night-hunt prey.Weaknesses:Lingering Curse: After sacrificing himself to save others, Wei Wuxian returns to the world with a lingering curse, granting him enhanced powers but also causing him suffering. This curse gives him heightened senses, speed, and strength, but it also brings him closer to the brink of madness. With each creature he summons and each weapon he imbues with Yin metal, Wei Wuxian risks straying further from the path of righteousness. Despite his noble intentions, Wei Wuxian's journey into demonic cultivation has left him conflicted.Vulnerability to Light: The dark powers he wields are inherently weakened by light and purity, making him particularly vulnerable in environments infused with spiritual energy or protected by powerful wards. Bright sunlight or the presence of righteous individuals can weaken his abilities and leave him at a disadvantage in battle. He can be wounded, exhausted, and ultimately killed like any other human, leaving him vulnerable to the myriad dangers he faces in his quest for redemption.

He can carefully look past his feelings and see the real situation at hand, which has been demonstrated on more than one occasion. He is extremely perceptive and able to quickly recognize his opponents' patterns and mistakes, which gives him an edge. In battle, while his preference is to concoct strategies based on the deduction of his opponents' fighting abilities and style, his natural battle instincts are also highly tuned. He is capable of slashing another person's head off in just an instant, relying only on impulse. However, his care for his friends and family is the backbone of his fighting drive, as he would sacrifice just about anything to protect them thus making him a reliable teammate despite his cunning front. Kurama has a kind heart, and several villains will use this ploy against him to beat him. In the face of adversity, Kurama has the uncommon ability to shun all emotions and shine a blank slate, thinking three to four steps ahead to clutch the pinch and seize control of the situation. Coupled with his vast intelligence, his detached emotional state is perhaps his greatest asset. He is much more cruel, vindictive, and merciless, retaining all of his intellectual capabilities. He enjoys toying with his enemies in a sadistic manner.Sometime before he gained his reputation, he met Kuronue, a fellow thief; they shared similar values, becoming good friends and stealing various important artifacts together. However, after successfully obtaining an unnamed rare antiquity, they were captured in a bamboo spike trap, that would mortally wound Kuronue. Unable to save his friend and Kuronue pleading for Kurama to save himself, he reluctantly fled, leaving him guilt-ridden centuries after the incident. Kurama later became a master thief renowned as the "Legendary Bandit" and an A-Class-ranked fox demon. At some point, he and his second-in-command, Yomi, decided to gain power through the theft of very valuable items from secure facilities in Demon World, even gaining a group of like-minded individuals. However, too many of his lieutenant's impulsive and rash decisions cost Yoko several of his henchmen, in combination with Kurama having to save Yomi several times. Eventually, Yoko sent a hitman to punish Yomi, using false information about a well-guarded treasure as bait; the assailant would blind him and Yoko left him for dead.About 15 years before his encounter with Wuxian, he was badly injured by Shunjun, one of the Spirit World's Special Defense Force patrollers (known as Hunters by demons) after a failed theft, his spirit retreating to the human world. Where he comes across Shiori Minamino and implants his soul into her unborn child. He originally planned to stay in the Human World long enough to regain his energy. Until the day he learned empathy for humans and love for his human mother during a childhood incident, where Shiori selflessly saved him from falling onto a floor covered in broken glass at the cost of permanent scars on her arms.Kurama’s Yokai
formKnown Techniques/MovesAccelerated Growth: Kurama is able to speed up the rate of growth of plants, allowing him to create a forest in mere seconds as a means of hiding himself. He can also control the plants he grew to do certain tasksDemonic Plant Manipulation - Kurama's primary skill set is the use of his demon energy to manipulate plants. Typically, this is done by taking some inert portion of a plant, like a seed or a flower, and transforming it into either a weapon or a living plant. When choosing the latter option, the plant will typically either be an intrinsically deadly plant native to the Demon World, or a Living World plant that has been drastically altered by Kurama's demon energy.Pollen of the Flower of Forgetfulness (Mugenka no Kafun, translated as Pollen of the Flower of Dreams) - Kurama uses this flower ability to erase all recent memories from his victim.Rose Whip - Kurama's signature technique, where he uses his demon energy to grow a rose from its seed state to its flowering state and then into a long thorny whip that's capable of cutting even through steel.Seed of the Death Plant - This is a small seed that Kurama plants in his opponent's body and can be manipulated using his demon energy. After it has had enough time to secure its roots within the victim's body, the death plant bursts forth from within, killing the opponent.

Mortals believe she was born from a star, no elders, no siblings, or clan. All by herself located in a dead hollow tree, hidden from eyes, hidden from the harsh circumstances. She was soon discovered by a group of mortals who were mesmerized by her ethereal beauty and mysterious aura, the headmaster, brought her home to his wife… Unable to bear children for themselves, the woman fell for the innocent young child.. Even though they Recognized her supernatural nature, they still took her under their care, offering her sanctuary and nurturing her latent abilities. There were many, they could look like ordinary people, animals which was most common, or even objects. While they are not necessarily demonic, many mortals do fear them and legends paint them in deep dark colors casting a shadow over her supernatural realm.. Keiko cherishes her humanity and strives to live among mortals as one of them, forging deep bonds of friendship and love along the way. Yet, she remains ever vigilant, knowing that dark forces lurk in the shadows, threatening to disrupt the delicate balance between the two worlds. Keiko's upbringing in the mortal world under the guise of a human warrior was a carefully orchestrated plan by her elders, designed to shield her from the prejudice and fear that often surrounded yokai. They instilled in her a sense of duty and loyalty to their cause, painting her own kind as a threat to be eradicated for the safety of humanity. As she honed her skills on the battlefield, Keiko embraced her role as a protector, believing wholeheartedly in the righteousness of her mission. Yet, beneath the facade of her mortal identity, Keiko harbored doubts and questions about her true nature. She felt a deep connection to the world of yokai, a kinship that stirred within her soul despite the teachings of her elders. With each passing day, the weight of her deception grew heavier, burdening her with guilt and uncertainty.Despite her inner turmoil, Keiko remained steadfast in her dedication to protecting the mortal realm, unaware of the machinations of her elders and the true extent of their manipulation. It was only through a chance encounter with a fellow yokai, a being who saw through her disguise and recognized the truth of her identity, that Keiko's eyes were opened to the lies that had been woven around her. -This also could happen within the story-As a Dawn Break Yokai, Keiko wields powers tied to the transition between night and day. At dawn, when the boundary between the mortal realm and the supernatural is at its weakest, her abilities are at their peak.Wraith Butterflies: In Keiko's control, the butterflies become quite a versatile tool. They are capable of great offense as a swarm of them can take down many powerful enemies and also work as a nigh-impenetrable defense. These butterflies can also do recon work such as scouting an area, spying on targets, turning invisible, and also work as communication devices. Some butterflies can even heal wounds, although this requires a specific Luna moth.Elemental Affinity: Keiko has a natural affinity for the elements, particularly water and moonlight, which she can manipulate to create dazzling displays of beauty or unleash devastating attacks against her foes.Illusionary Arts: Keiko has mastered the art of creating illusions, weaving intricate images and phantasms that can bewilder and disorient her opponents. These illusions can range from simple distractions to elaborate constructs that mimic reality.Fan Dancing Mastery: Keiko's skill in fan dancing not only serves as a form of combat but also enhances her abilities as a yokai. Through her graceful movements and precise control of her fan, she can channel her energy more effectively and unleash devastating attacks.
Spiritual Sensitivity: Keiko possesses a heightened awareness of spiritual energies, allowing her to detect the presence of other yokai, spirits, or supernatural phenomena. This sensitivity grants her insight into the unseen forces that shape the world around her.Manipulation of Light: Keiko can control and manipulate light, bending it to her will to create dazzling illusions, blinding flashes, or beams of intense energy. This ability can be used for both offensive and defensive purposes. Her deep-seated longing for connection and her internal conflict regarding her true nature is a raging storm within her, making it hard for her to find trust and.. Connection..Dependence on Dawn: As a Daybreak Yokai, Keiko's powers are strongest at dawn when the boundary between the mortal realm and the spirit world is at its weakest. Outside of this time, her abilities may diminish, making her vulnerable.Vulnerability to Darkness: Despite her affinity for light, Keiko may be weakened or hindered by darkness or shadow-based attacks. Exposure to darkness could dampen her powers or even temporarily suppress them.Graceful and enigmatic, Keiko exudes an aura of serenity and poise, concealing depths of wisdom and ancient knowledge. She possesses a gentle demeanor, yet there's an underlying sense of mystique that surrounds her, drawing people to her presence like moths to a flame. Keiko is a master of the arts, with long midnight locks often tied in ribbon.Keiko’s Yokai form:When Keiko's Yokai form emerges, it is a sight to behold, a manifestation of ancient power and ethereal beauty. Iridescent scales seeing the light and casting prismatic reflections across the landscape, they ornate the apples of her cheeks, her collarbones, and some other locations of her supernatural canvas. Keiko's, once midnight black hair transforms into a shimmering cascade of pure white, curly horns, forming like branches of a tree. However, the transformation is not without its risks, as the immense power of her Yokai form can be difficult to control. Keiko must tread carefully, lest the very forces she seeks to harness consume her and those she strives to protect. Her appearance is the elegance and majesty of a dragon-like entity, her slender figure takes on a more ethereal aspect, elongating slightly as wisps of energy swirl around her, resembling the graceful movements of a dragon in flight. Fabric-like wings, translucent and shimmering being the most refined silk. Keiko's connection to the spirit world grows stronger in her Yokai form, enabling her to communicate with the souls of the departed and commune with ancient spirits. Despite her fearsome still beautiful appearance and formidable powers, Keiko's Yokai form retains the elegance and grace of her human guise, a reminder of the duality that lies at the heart of her existence.
